The Mixer is a marriage of passions. After countless conversations filled with “what ifs” and exciting ideas, husband and wife team, Graham and Heather Dawson, finally decided to combine their love and talent for baking and drink crafting to create The Mixer.
We strive to offer a dynamic, hand-crafted dining experience no matter what time of day you visit. From fresh pastries baked in-house and coffee sourced from small independent roasters to bistro-style lunch offerings, a well-balanced craft cocktail menu, and an elevated dinner menu fit for a big city, you’ll find artisanship in everything we offer at The Mixer.
We always strive to offer an experience that exceeds the expectations of our guests. Service is one of the most important facets of any restaurant, and our staff is top-tier.
So much hard work goes into crafting each of our menus, and our service staff shows that same level of care in their attention to our guests. We train every member of our staff to be as knowledgeable as possible, ensuring our guests are expertly guided through every dining experience at The Mixer.
114 E. 6th street is one of the most well-known buildings in Hopkinsville, KY.
Built in 1898, this building once housed the iconic Young Hardware until its closure in 2017. After coming under new ownership, renovations began to bring our vision for The Mixer to life. Taking care to restore the beautiful brick walls and original ceiling, The Mixer now offers an elevated rustic ambiance. Repurposing the original hardwood floor, we gave the beautiful wood a new life as our bar—the centerpiece of our dining room. The local artisanship showcased throughout our space speaks volumes to the talent in our own backyard.
The Mixer is a marriage of passions. Over the years, our founders, husband and wife team Graham and Heather Dawson, had countless conversations filled with “what ifs” and exciting ideas of ways to combine their love and talent for baking and drink crafting. Opportunity finally struck, and a concept that started as scribbles in old notebooks finally became a reality—The Mixer. Though their original plans were for a bakery, they knew they couldn’t survive on cake alone. So, the concept grew and they leaned on the talent of their kitchen staff to create an exceptional dinner menu. In collaboration with team members, they brought together a menu that complements the original components of The Mixer with a full dining experience, utilizing fresh and local resources whenever possible.
